Oversees 335d E90 Catches Fire whilst driving

Just came across this on another forum - thread link

Driving home last night, come off the motorway and the car loses power. I decide to pull over and find out what the possible cause is, as I pull over I see smoke from under the hood - assuming it might be an overheating issue, to my surprise I open the hood to find a fire near the engine. Before I could even try to cut it out, it spread very fast, eventually burning the entire front end of the car by the time the fire service arrived. I have no idea what could have caused! I also just found this - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17514172 but that has nothing to do with the 3 series. Anyone ever experience or heard of such a case?!

I wonder if the guy who designed the 458 Italia was involved in the design of this car as well :fencelook:
