So, I received my BMW back from the panel shop and whilst checking everything, noticed my nav was not working. Off to Continental cars for advice. Guy told me to disconnect the battery for 15mins and check the conections on the DVD drive, for signs of moisture, etc. This done and the unit still not working, I went back to the dealer, with the covers all still pulled away to expose the drive unit. Vaughan, a very helpfull guy, checks it out and asks me if my BT still works...."what BT", I asked. "Your bluetooth phone" he says. "But I don't have a bluetooth in my car!" "Yes you have!", says Vaughan, "together with a Harman Kardon digital sound processor!"

WTF! I did not even know that and I've had the car for 11 months!!!! The a$$hole service advisor told me I did no have BT telephone in my car, when I asked him! After investigation I found out my car was an ex press/demo car from BMWSA and was fitted with these little extras, as well as M-Tech (not standard sport pack) suspension, altered engine mapping and some tweaks to the handling! No wonder with the "plug and play" chip, I'm blowing loads of cars off, without even trying!!

So now I have a genuine BMW bluetooth phone in my cab; well I've always had it, but now I know about and I'm using it!

What I'm trying to say is; when buying a used BMW from a non franchised dealer, make 100% sure what extras it has, you might be pleasantly surprised!

P.S Nav still not working, but taking it in on Monday for diagnostic, paid for by the panel shop!!!!

Pity BMWSA did not fit a 330d engine to it, to fool the press! Something else I noticed a while ago, is that I have more interior lights than other 320d's. I have foot well lights in front and rear and sun visor lights when you flap the visor down and slide open the mirror cover. Does anyone else have this? I must keep looking, maybe I find more stuff!!!!:excited:

Only thing I wish I had was an arm rest! That's one thing an exclusive pack has, that I don't have...dunno why.:mmm:

Some people like it, some don't. I don't have it either, but I'm a bit skeptical about paying R1,5k for one at a scrap dealer.

I have had an armrest in both my e46's and it is the shit :) I have never found it to get in the way, but it is great for long trips etc, and provides you with some extra storage space for small items :)

And if you still wanna "get jiggy with it" you can simply flip the entire thing up and out the way :)

The used ones I've seen, have looked tacky...probably all the sweat! :puke:

the one in my 320d was dove grey, and if you just give it a wife with some leather cleaner every month or so, it stays clean.

The one in my current car is black so it is probably dirty :)

I fitted a rear electric roller sun blind, xenons too, well actually I built the whole car into a Sports Pack...

I wanted to do the rollerblind. Got all the components for R500, then realized that the custom sound and rollerblind don't fit together...

my armrest is in the permanent up position.

one thing I wish i had was e90 style cup holders (the ones that pop out above the cubbyhole), hell any cup holders would do :)

There might be a retrofit, I know there is one for the e36.
