Opinion wanted - M4 boot spoiler

Should I leave it as is or get it colour matched?

Hi everyone,

I need some input on the boot spoiler - having a bit of buyer's remorse.
Perhaps I'm just not used to it, but I'm not liking it as much as I thought I would.
It's an OEM part (as is the matching diffuser), so quality isn't a concern, just the appearance. That said, I don't know why it isn't wide enough to go all the way to the boot's edge... It's stuck on dead center and there are a couple of mm's on each side between the boot lid edge and the spoiler.

Does it look OK or should I consider getting it colour matched to blend in a bit more?
I'm not planning on adding any more CF parts, except perhaps the mirror covers.

Thoughts?

Apologies for the poor quality pics. The weather is miserable out so garage photos will have to do for now.

this is " normal " with all carbon spoilers ... OEM bmw doesnt fit right to the edge either .. if its really eating at you .. u could add a piece on black vinyl to make it look "complete" .... but this is perfect! Carbon on this colour is Pure Porn!

Thanks.
This is the BMW OEM one.
I can live with the gap. Just not sure if it looks a bit

Not really the look I'm going for on this car...

Thanks guys.
From the comments and votes, it seems that it doesn't look too bad/odd.
I'll keep it as is and see if it grows on me.

It should be to your appeal, not anyone else's :=):

To me it looks decent, but I wonder if having it sprayed to match would make it look... better?

Perfect colour.... Perfect look! Don't stress about the gap. Normal with the OEM part. :coolShake:

Agreed - it should be to my taste, but I'm just not sure, so I asked the internet - a VERY dangerous thing to do sometimes...

The first time I saw it was on a mineral grey M4, where it blended it much better with the paint. I saw it from a distance and was like "the F# is up with the boot lid?", but not in a bad way. Only when I got closer, I realized that it was a spoiler. I saw it on a white one and YMB again, and didn't love it, but didn't hate it either. The white one had just about every CF part known to man on it, so it kind of blended.
I ordered it with the intention of having it sprayed, but a couple of my friends who saw it so far all said to keep it as is. Not sure if they are sparing my feelings. The internet won't (I'm sure from previous experience), hence my Q.

I'm a bit OCD so I know it bothers you…
It is meant to look like that though so accept it
It's not that bad though, the edges are sharp and even.
If it looked skew as well I would've matched the colour.

Being as OCD I am, I think that with the spoiler not going to the edge it would bug me too bud. But it looks really good hey. Carbon on your colour looks gorgeous! Hope it grows on you :blowheart:

As with most things, due to your focus being on the spoiler and gap currently it will always look more apparent. Give it some time allowing you to get used to it, in most cases you will get more comfortable with it and if not then you know colour coding will be the next option...

What bugs me more than the gaps on the sides is the way it fits over the edge of the boot lid too.

What bugs me about this is that its not my M....
Shew you have " rich people problems"....just kidding.:tiptoe:

I think it looks hot in the CF. Also look at adding a CF front spoiler, completely transforms the look of the M bumper.
