oops apologies for late reply :)
there's no need for the flap as its only for noise reduction. So flap was left out for maximum roar!
With absence of airflow meter a stage2 tune including Alpha-N mapping is necessary otherwise car wont start or run properly.

Didn't you guys lock Burgy's ECU though? Thus causing it to not work in the end.

e46 m3 ecu is only allowed a certain number of times to be written to and thereafter it locks. Burgy's car had some unknown tune before we even got there. The lock had to be removed which i arranged for him via budler motorsport.
I went out of my way to assist burgy. The world doesnt revolve around him. So please dont stir dude its really childish.

Tash, Im not stirring but you offered to get budler to unlock my ecu at a cost of R5000. This was after paying around R11000 to xcede for files etc.

I wont go into anymore detail of why I only kept the airbox for 3 weeks, but when posting, please ensure that your posts are accurate.

The world doesnt revolve around me, and crash isnt being childish at all. He asked a question, thats it.

Who said it revolved around him. Just stating a fact... and that others should be aware of. Chill bro, its childish to assume one is stirring.

Yes we locked Burgy's ECU. The car ran but would not accept any new files. That's the risk anyone with an E46 M3 takes that does a lot of flashing. It's the only ECU that has this flash limit.

Has actually happened to 3 cars we did.

Sherwin: In future, you should inform your customers of the risk before flashing the ecu.

Or maybe even choose some customers more wisley.

Sometimes, its better to lose a sale and save on kak in the future.

Question: If you lock a clients ECU with a tune, would Xcede pay for the unlocking of the ECU as well or is this done at customers risk?

I apologise, I did not intend to offend you.

Was just making a statement about a certain type of customer. It will make good business sense for any Service Provider to stay away from that.

And yes, I do know the details.

That's exactly what I did before flashing the other cars and hence the customers paid to get it fixed.

Any modification is always at the clients risk. Even dyno'ing a standard car is at the owners risk. Big signs at every dyno shop.

If we mess up an ECU, then we will pay to fix it. But this locked ECU is not exactly the same scenario. The car starts and drives with whatever map as last loaded on it. It just Doesn't accept any new maps. So the onus Is on the owner to unlock if he wants to try more maps.

 I think Im going to agree with Sherwin on this matter - the client should know the risks involved with doing any modifications on a car - and Im afraid that BMW mention that also - hence Motor plan getting terminated if you mod the standard units.

If anyone here even thinks that modifying a standard Motor and it will all be fine is dreaming, you run the risks of it getting damaged.

Take ownership of your choices guys.

So is it worth doing the Carbon fibre CSl intake or not?

What is the cost (all in all including the necesary software) and what is the wkw gain?
