opening front door

bmw E90 left front door locks/unlocks but does not open from inside or outside, ever experience this or any advice

Its the door actuator I guess. Those are crazy expensive if I'm not mistaken.

I guess but thats not the problem the problem is the door is jammed closed ? any ideas on how to get it open ? I did manage to remove the door pad but cant get any further than that.

How about the other doors? Does the door in question open from the inside? I'm guessing not but just making sure.

My friend has the same prob with an e36. We still need to remove the door pad to get the actuator out and replace with a new one. If it is the actuator.

Heard it is a pain to do!

I had this prob a few months ago, took it up with BMW cos its a serious hazard!!! the service advisor said they are aware of this problem. Motorplan should cover it, think they replaced the actuator.
