1. 335i
2.330d 180kw version
If both has exhaust systems both software and both air inductions "only" witch is the fastest anyone of you guys own a new 180kw version D-Power ever raced a 335i with the same mods...:fencelook:

I went for the 330d N57 over the 335...
Stock for stock manual, the 335i is a faster..
In Auto driver dependant :thumbs:

look at the stats in 4,5 and 6th on the 330d :ty:

The fuel consump is amazing ....... and the look of the Drivers faces when they see the 330d badge :joy:

330d is a great package, excellent consumption and awesome performance.. 335i has much more modding potential...

I reckon 330d for sure, even though the 335i is a damn nice car! Driven in my mates 330d before and the torque is insane on these BMW's.

Maybe drop my mate (Falcon21) a PM and see what he has to say about his car, he's been nothing but happy with it for more than a year now.

I would not mind owning both. I am a diesel lover :joy:

Kinnear, you are giving us a difficult choice. If I were to choose between the two I would not look at which is more powerful. It would be purely based on my needs...I have always bought my vehicles like that. If I need a corsa bakkie, I will buy a bakkie no matter how much you convince me a 330d can do the same job.

If you were to force me to choose between the two, or to choose the M3 V8 or the 335; I would choose the 335 because of my current & past experience with the 335...i just love the car...and it is not the straightline performance. I have waited for soooo many years (like many others) for BMW to produce a turbo car again and when I heard they were building the 335, I travelled to Austria in 2005 to see this car/concept in person. Needles to say my joy has not faded.

There is of course another issue which give the 330d an edge and it has to do with reliability...there are no fuel pump or injector issues...:thumbs:

On second thought, when you "want" something and you can afford it, it will be difficult to persued such a person otherwise. :inlove:

Hi Guys, the 330d is a fantastic car to drive, i have the pre face lift 170kw model. did a dyno run today and I was getting 191wkw and 680nm. My father in law owns the 135i and it is quick! i still think the 335 will trump the diesel.

Yes i know that a 335i will trump the diesel 170kw version, but i am asking directly for the 180kw as this car has 110 different components that the 170kw didn't had and that's the one i am wondering about. what will happen coz stock for stock the 335i will take the kill but if the mods on top that i have mentioned has to be done by both cars witch one will be the quickest... but tanks its good to see you are on the right track of this storrie.

new spec 330d vs new spec 335i - software and exhaust on both.

Both are mates cars of mine. I drove the 330d and the 335i kept on opening the 330d from 2nd gear , off the line 330d seemed a bit quicker but 335i reels and passes easily. Both cars with auto boxes.

Old spec 330d(mine) vs new spec 330d (one above) - we are neck and neck rolling. From the line its a matter of who gets traction better.

New spec 330d has torque limiters that hamper it alot. Im invited to test a 335d on 26th August, will try and make a video but was told a modded 330d is a joke in front of a stock 335d.
