As the title says

Gordon popped in for a "re-check" of his wheel alignment, whilst the car was on the lift a "look-see" at the suspension before starting the alignment revealed that the tie-rod-end has LOTSA play, so abandoned the alignment excercise.

Gordon left, but returned soon after asking us to repair....then the frantic hunt began to get a new one
Goldwagen...ZERO

There is a spare shop at Norkem all aswell.

probably...E36 spares are popular and many places stock them E39...different story

my next mission is to look at the interchangeability/common usage of these parts

update

EXECUTER picked up the pieces for Falsh Gordon, and came thru to the shop this morning for some brake work that needed to be done to Miss-Marple,

Gordon arrived a bit later, the shop was "humming" busy..as is usual over the "pay-day" weekend, and lift space was at a premium.

but work done (staff put in overtime) , replaced rack-ends and tie-rod-ends and then allignement.

charge to a "Fanatic" was only R500 labour

I am sure Gordon will give his impressions as well.

PS Herr BMW....I missed you by mere minutes, for apparantly you had just left as I arrived, sorry you coudn't wait, but you noticed that "For-A-Change" we were very busy....next time !

Mods, I don't seem to be able to change the title/heading...to add "sorted" to it

they are one of my suppliers yes... it does not really matter because i have the same pricing or better...

the common problem these companies have is they cannot supply the level of service i can and also often do not have enough model specific knowledge... If I dont know I am willing to do the research to make sure the product will serve your need :)

Sean`s service is always tops, so are his prices.

Speedway!! Im was very impressed. The guys that work there know what they are doing, and even with the shop being very busy, they accommodated me as soon as possible.

I had my front brake wear level sensor replaced (I replaced the pads with Andy1GP`s help some time back, but had the wrong sensor for the front), as well as rear pads and wear level sensor.

And they did this at a Fanatics discount that every Fanatic would be proud of!

Myself and Ralf checked the computer, reset the Service info on the brakes, and all was sorted again!!

Thanks Speedway and Ralf!!!

My E46 is going there next for some TLC and a general suspension, alignment and checkup....Maybe even a exhaust wont do much harm... *hint hint*
