Hi Guys

The oil-pump sprocket and chain on my E34 M5 somehow came loose. Is it necessary to replace the oil-pump as well?

is there any damage to the pump itself?
Hi Freerider

What's up man? I am not sure, still waiting for my mech. to remove and let me know but he said it won't be necessary. I just thought maybe someone on the forum might have had a similar problem in the past?:hammerhead: very frustrating.

My oil pump casing bolts came loose and two bolts were in the oil pan. luckily picked this up on a oil change. I put the bolts back with some thread locker and after 25000 km they are stil tight so ja. The was a common problem with the m60 engine. guess your bolts wer'nt torqued properly on instal.

Hi Danzellc

Thanks, the oil pump guide needs to be replaced. Hopefully there isn't anything else broken? I should know by the end of the week.
