Oil Change on an E90 320d

Hi all,

I would like to change my oil every 7500km.
My car is still under MP, will they change it without giving me stories?

You will be wasting your money. A good oil will stay within spec for the rated service life. The previous owner of my car stretched some of the services to beyond 20kkm (15kkm rated), and the car is on 280+kkm, with no issues, still original turbo.

The thing with the older oils was, that they broke down quicker due to contamination, heat etc. Modern oils are designed to live longer, and in conjunction with lower (50ppm) diesel, this is very much possible.

I think you can tell them to change the oil anyway but they will charge you for that more than likely over R1k

I would have to agree with P1000 you will get no benifit from that just a lighter pocket

And think of the environment!!! Less oil changes means less used oil going somewhere.
