So my car hits the 2 year mark a couple of days ago. Get a call this morning from the dealer stating my car needs to come in for a recall campaign. Looks like the water temp sensor and timing tensioner is getting replaced.

so I would be glad if they told me that to get it sorted then to pay for it out of my own cost.

I agree with Dippies, nothing bad can come of this. At least they contacted you, as opposed to you finding out about a recall and them not bothering to tell you.

Plus while you there tell them to inspect the car for any leaks and or visible wear and tear to replace in the future. 2 Fly's one shot.

Did BMW call you directly?

Hmmm im not the first owner of the car so I will never be contacted by the manufacturers.

Mine got the thermostat replace begining of the year with some sort of pipe they replaced. Funny cause I didn't think '11 cars had issues. They also let me know there is another campaign they will perform at the next service, which will be the 9th time my cars goes in and it only has 30000 km on the clock. Guess how happy I am with there service. (Just to let you kow the car didn't have so many issues they just didn't want to replace the brake pads on the first booking, had to drive anothe 2000 km then they couldn't find a stupid issue)

Neither did I, but this is the first and hopefully only time it will need to go in for something like this.

I'm more miffed about the kak service I got from Auto Atlantic.
