OEM filters not from agent??

Hi all,

I decided to check on my air filter and aircon filter last night. Thy definitely need a change.

I have read on the forum that the OEM filters are the best. The intake box is still stock and no mods on car for a while to come so I am looking at a like for like replacement of these filters.

Can I get the OEM filters somewhere else other than the agent?

We all know when parts come in a BMW branded box or have a BMW logo stamped on them that the parts are sometimes twice as expensive.

*Citation needed: As far as I understand, Imcomex sells OEM filters. I have bought from them in the past, prices are good

Never heard of Citation but I am taking advantage of the oil change service special today at BMW. Will get quotes from them.

Meyle Filters from Goldwagen

I would be reluctant to use such filters as the saving is not that much and the quality is equally not that good.

Stick to agents for filters.

Ummm :smashScreen:

"Citation needed" means that an author or editor of an article has included a fact that does not appear to be supported by any of the existing footnotes / citations for that article, and therefore a new source must be cited to support it.

I am saying, I am not 100% sure, but I have been told its OEM.

Haha. Excuse the stupidity. This is what happens when you don't concentrate on what is said or shown (happens very often) but I could swear it initially said contact Citation.

And what's the verdict on the reusable panel filters like BMC and K&N?
They aren't cleaned enough or they cleaned too much, both detrimental to a car. Paper filter element is still the best form of air filtration as BMC and K&N ect allow small particles of dirt through. If you going to run those filters it's best you change oil more regularly.

What is "more regularly" for oil changes when using those filters?

Quick update. Got both the pollen and air filters from the agent.

Cost just a tad over R500 each. Really not expensive for them at all.
