ODI this last weekend..237KM/h on the 1KM

So went to ODI on Sunday, ran 237km/h on the 1KM and 13.1 sec on the quarter. Was expecting a slightly faster speed and better time, but car was suffering in the heat. Also my first time at the track and was battling with pullaways. Think I need to fine tune my maps a bit more to SA's high temps, the US settings pump out the numbers on the dyno but my timing sucked in real world conditions when running high boost. Had to bring boost right down to run the 237.

Anyways had a great time with fellow BMW fanatics, see pic below

Nicely done, thats not too far off from the manual 135i that posted 240km at the end of November....

Keep at it baracus, im sure once you fine tune the beast and you can get the boost better through the gears it will greatly assist with traction and increasing your exit speed.

Have a look at burgy's thread regarding a group buy for x35 intercoolers

One last thing, how does your autobox stand up to that all torque you are pushing through it?

Well done Bud! Great times.

@ German Spec - I think Sherwin recently post 246km on a manual 135i...I think.

Thanks guys!

I suspect the problem is that Procede's stg 3 map has the timing too far advanced for our conditions? Have customized the boost curve for altitude but am now gonna have to manually decrease ignition advance settings across the rpm & boost range (see pic below, going to take some time to decrease all the values by a couple of . points. Stg 1 map goes to -8 in places). When on the dyno under a light load timing seems fine, but at high boost (18psi+) I noticed knocking on the data logs as soon as I hit the higher rpm's in 5th on the track, even with meths spraying? Was only boosting about 16.5-17psi when I did the 237, so I'm sure there's some room to go

Am already running a pretty decent ETS intercooler, not quite as big as some others but has a very dense core.
The autobox seems to be holding up fine, only really makes the major torque low down, so hopefully not too much stress at the higher rpm's

Ran 227km consistently and best 1/4m was 13.6:thumbdo: (check my post under X35, N54 shift bogging)

Best I ran so far was 13.2 at Odi last time I was there.

M coupe ran 217km/h and 13.7 1/4m.

That's impressive Baracus. I'm consistently amazed by what these turbo BMW's do. Even the staunchest N54/N55 naysayer guys have to admit this is pretty damn awesome
