Ok so there is no control unit available in this country yet & I doubt there ever will be due to the fuel required. I know the owner of this car & we have been to ODI with him a few times. What point are you trying to make?

Not trying to make any point
You said that ac schnitzer claims zero increase in power
This is contrary to what I have read
Whether it's done in SA or not I have no clue
I don't know what exactly has been done to this M4 I asked the owner on Sunday and he said it has ac schnitzer conversion I didn't go into details about the conversion
Don't take this as an attack on you that's not my intention
My post was merely intended to share knowledge of what I have read regarding the ac schnitzer conversion
I will not post anything further on the subject

The owner has a backbox as that's all that's available at the moment from ACS in this country. The backbox adds no power, both independantly dyno'd on the F80 forums & from ACS themselves. This guy came with us on a few occasions and the 1st time was when the car was brand new and launch control wasn't even active & he ran 248 on the 1km. With the stock exhaust. He ran slower now with the ACS but it was a different day with different conditions.

Ok not arguing, just for information, this is directly from ACS website:

The ACS high performance silencers:

And what the say about any power increase (official answer)?

http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/bmw-cars/products-models/4-series/f82-m4-coupe-since-2014/exhaust/

The improved dissipation of exhaust gases allows your car's engine to work more efficiently and "breathe" properly. This can improve the engine performance

So they don't make any power claims besides that it "can" improve performance.

They have a chip unit that takes the power up to 375kw, but not certified for South Africa yet. It's a piggyback unit along the lines of JB and it requires 98-102 RON as stated on their website:

Can I race with what seems to be turbo seals going.
It doesnt smoke often , maybe once or twice a week a little while after boosting, or am I risking turbo failure/worse.

Maybe I should start the E36 M and come and get whipped.

Fanatics, Nice meeting some of you. Thanks for the Gazebo, cooling mist sprays on our intercoolers and faces ,

Oh and the halaal pizza, Arbee .

The heat, heatsoak & sunburn was too bad resulting in the lower speeds and times.
I am happy with the 181km/h (quarter mile) and 237km/h(1km) considering my turbos are not boosting right and on their way out.

You welcome!

Yeah, could see the smoke. Rowi and I drove out of ODI behind you. Over the speedbumps it puffed.

Thanks we will dial up on the conservative boost I was running and add more aggressive timing . Hope my turbos will be sorted by then.

Is there Anyone with experience at turbo direct? Or stallion turbos ?
And a good mech to fit
I would like an upgrade but stock isn't too bad as well.

I can't tell you what actual power gains are of the Schnitzer M4 software but I've driven one (both before and after the software upgrade) and my butt dyno tells me that the gains are impressive. I think JSN claims about 65kw and 110nm. Anyone interested in the upgrade should call Shaun at JSN for the details. What's nice about the upgrade is that to help with traction issues, the added power is introduced incrementally through the gears so that you'll only see the full power gain from 3rd gear onward

Hi there, the ACS software requires a minimum of 98 RON as stated on their website. So it's not officially available for this country yet.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if they offer a slightly detuned version for 95RON soon.

Sherwin, I can't speak to the technical aspects you mention but the software is available. As indicated, I've driven an M4 with the upgrade. You may well be correct in your view that a detuned file is loaded to account for our lower grade fuel. Either way, the improvement, especially in mid-range power delivery, is obvious. And the staging of the power delivery through the gears is smart. The upgrade is horribly expensive though - too rich for my blood

are the claiming 65wkw or flywheel power?

I can't imagine that would be a wkw gain but if you're interested, contact JSN for the details
