Octane Boosters in N/A ///M's

Hi Guys,

Anyone have some conclusive evidence that there is a benefit of running a 5 Ron boost with each tank? Give the compression ratio of the M3 I would think there is?

Caio

Also to add to this, what is the long term effect of NF Sport on the injectors in the M?

I think 3RON is more than enough, but it will ensure the ECU runs an optimized map. Being adaptive you will need to run a tank or two before you will notice

are you at the coast or reef? 3 ron definitely helps my 323i...

3/5ron would be good at the coast at the reef you probably wont benefit from anything more that 3ron but do some testing and see what works for you :)

300km is enough for the ecu to adapt fully

NF 3 and 5 Ron is safe to run on every tank and its it recommended you use injector cleaner every 10 tanks or so to keep the fuel system optimum...

I am a retailer for NF:

NF Ultra Race Fuel Concentrate[6-10 RON] R 200
NF Race Octane Booster[6 RON] R 130
NF Sport Octane Booster[5 RON] R 95
NF Street Octane Booster[3 RON] R 45
NF injector cleaner R 55

I definitely feel a difference with Liquid Moly 5 Ron in Jezebel. Response is a lot sharper.

PS. Moranor, you say you need to do injector cleaning after about 10 tanks. Can the Octane Booster really cause mishaps in the fuelling system. Say maybe very bad misfiring / clogging of the fuel delivery and cause your car to idle really bad? Cause I've read up on some people having this problem after extended use of Octane Boosters. The myth that they eat your fuel lines or something.

Either way, I do feel a difference in Jezebel, and she has slightly lower compression than stock.

you should try 3 ron you get the best performance from the right octane not the most octane :)

I see... Please read my edited question above this previous post about Cons of using octane booster.

dont need to run the injector cleaner because of the octane boost you should run it every 10 tanks anyway octane boost or no to keen things running smoothly...

only problem octane boost can cause if you overdose BADLY is fouled spark plugs not exactly going to be the end of the world...

I only use NF. Generally make use of 3RON to rid my car of detonation due to crap fuel quality at the pumps.

I have also used 6RON which didn't really make much difference between the 2 in terms of performance, smoothness, etc. I did however achieve an 11.5L/100km combined cycle on a 4.8L V8 which in my world is pretty damn impressive. Drove nicely with 3RON too and I was up about a litre per 100km which is still decent nonetheless.

Temperature makes a massive difference in performance so you would need to take that into account when try to run the comparison.

I'm down about 2 liters per 100km, its heavy foot syndrome

Crash, using Liqui Moly Octane Booster wont harm the fuel system or create buildups.

It actually contains a touch of injector cleaner in it.
