Welcome!!! That's one well kept car! No swirl marks, even the number plate is glistening.

Go drive the cars you interested in back to back. At the end of the day, you must be happy!!!

You'll find lots of good advice here. We're passionate about cars, obviously Bimmers first, but cars in general, and we're generally the kind of people who appreciate good automotive engineering regardless of the brand.

And number plates are Somerset West right? Lol

+1 on the 135i DCT

It looks good
It is fast stock
It has extremely fast gear changes with relentless acceleration
It is a nice platform for modding
It is a great reliable every day drive
It remains reliable when lightly modded
It turns into a monster when heavily modded

Find a good used one 2011 model or later for under R400,000 and low mileage and let the smiles begin. Motorplan to 2016.

You seems like someone who doesn't keep his cars stock.

A fully modded 135i DCT will be hard beat on the road.

Yeah after much thinking today and fighting with my love for boost ( boost won :praise: ) decided to look deeper into 135s and gonna give the M135 a try as I love the interior as that's where most my time will be spent in, thousand times nicer than a 135 if you ask me
But the shape of the 135 is just awesome!
Haha you're right about the modding but actually wanted to keep it simple on the new ride. Full exhaust, intake, cooler and some Xcede loving and I'll be done. I hope :fishwack:

Dude, whats happening

Glad to see you on here. You wont be disappointed with a x35i, nice change from a GTI. Different driving feel to the GTI.

I'm loving my bm's and so will you should you get one, no matter which (M or x35). You can always get the 135, leave it stock and get a scoob to play with :rollsmile:

Sup mate, welcome to the forum. The M135i is best of all worlds, than M3 for true drivers car and 135i for a better looking m135i. plus you can pick up some second hand ones at a lower price, DCT is the business but the 8 speed auto in the m135i is a real gem!

Welcome bud, very sweet looking ride, I think I might have seen your GTi in CPT a few weeks ago...looks super!!!

I was in the market for an M3 till a few weeks ago also!my budget only allowed for and almost out of motorplan or already out of plan vehicle!!awesome machines but honestly slightly too expensive for me to afford(especially if something had to go wrong, which doesnt usually happen, but can be exrtremely expensive, if it does).
Then I started looking at other options 135i/M135.
The M135> i just dont fancy the look, but thats personal opinion and the new 235i will be R500k+ which again is out of my budget!!

I "settled"for a 2010 135i Coupe msport with n55 DCT and BMW Performance Pack upgrades and hot damn!!its been almost 3 weeks and EVERYTIME I press the start button i get a HUGE grin on my face when the exhaust roars into life! The performance is more than enough to get you into trouble with the law:rollsmile:
Wont be much faster than your G6 K04, might be a bit slower as ive heard those K04 give amazing power gains!?!But ive got 18 months motorplan left and with the new 2series coming you should be able to negotiate a sweet deal on one!

I couldnt be happier honestly.
Im from Paarl and wouldnt mind taking you for a spin sometime(maybe on our breakfast run-please do join us!)
Good luck brother and hope this helps...:=):

Haha thanx for all the input guys ya I think I'm set on a 135i right now. Found the perfect one in cpt for a very good price, MP till 2016 and PPK2 but no xenons :thumbdo: is it a major and costly job to change to the xenon headlamps?
All the 135is I find seem to be crippled of at least 2 options I want :argh:

Wait for the one you want. For me the most important were Xenon, MSport, BT, DCT, Motorplan, colour, Mileage.

I ended up with the following on top of that, Sunroof, USB, BMW Professional Radio, Harmon Kardon sound. None of these were deal breakers. The top ones were.

This thread is dragging on a bit now, just buy the damn car already!:roflol:
Just kidding. I agree with Magneto, the right one will come along when you least expect it,and there's plenty good examples out there. I have to admit that I am liking the 135's more and more,I think it's just such great bang for your buck and a whole lot of car considering what you're paying. And even stock they are damn quick,I used to keep my distance when I had my M3,cos I never knew what to expect! You can't go wrong!
Also spread your search a bit wider and look in Jozi as well, there are plenty on the market up there at pretty good prices. Dax got his (now sold) for a steal in Joburg with just about NO mileage on it,and then there's always the drive back to Cape Town
