It is a setting that can be coded with the right tools. I would not really want it on, though.

sorry mate - im not sure.

i looked at all the settings trying to find a way to turn mine off, but no luck. so im guessing it must be a coded thing then?

oh mines an e87 120d btw, but there shouldnt be a difference right?

the chime is retarded... what cant you see if your passenger does not have a seat belt on...

i would be a bit worried that maybe the seat weight sensor is faulty though... because if it is the airbag may not deploy in an accident...

i would take it in to have it tested... if all is good i would never put the chime on...

Faulty sensor would light the airbag light on the dash...

On your options list when ordering a car you will see a R400 option to have an Acoustic seatbelt warning or something to that effect.
The R400 is just a coding charge I think as all should come standard with the weight sensor just deactivated unless requested.

Mine doesn't have the passanger chime aswell, I don't think there's something wrong.
I would love to have the drivers chime turned off tho.

I have a new M3 2011 model and it also doesnt have the noise so i dont think its a problem with your car.

I really don't see the point of these kinds of chimes or dongs :nonono: they should rather put them on important events, just as low coolant warnings, low oil pressure warnings, high coolant temperature warnings, that kind of thing.

A bong or a chime is good for seatbelts and so on, for low coolant/oil or high coolant temp it should be one of those WW2 incoming bomber sirens :)

Does your car have the sports seats fitted?

My car has the sports seats, and both seats complain if they are being sat on by someone without being buckled up.

My bro-in-law has an E90 323i, with standard seats, and only his driver seat chimes.

Perhaps that is the issue?
