No more Run-flats

Had anough of the hard ride. I changed my rims from 18" 40 profile to a 17" with a 50 profile non-run flat tyre. What a difference in the ride. So much more comfortable and softer ride. I'll never go back to run flats.

The 17" rims without run flats

When a standard E90 like mine has a considerably harder ride thanks to the 17" staggered RFT's compared to a similar E90 M Sport with 18" staggered normal tyres, then you know how hard these pesky things really are! For now I am still running with the RFT's, but not forever!

Just get a small tyre compressor and a "tyre repair can" and put it in the space where the spare would have been. Problem solved.

looks good, it doesnt look undersized in those wheel arches.

They resemble E90 wheels?

Hi Guys !! I am new to the forum so please excuse the mistakes .. I drive a 320i msport E 90 with run flats . Can I put normal tyres on these rims and what about the sensors on the rims that do their tyre indication stuff??

If your car is out of motorplan you can, there is nothing stopping you. But before you do this, invest in a space-saver kit or mobility kit. The TPMS will still function and would need to be initialised regardless of the tyres fitted - it using the ABS and traction control to monitor and determine changes in tyre pressures. Other tip, might want to just inform your insurance and have them accept this change in writing - should the car be involved in an accident having normal tyres then cannot be used as some sort of stupid excuse...

I so badly wanna ditch my RFT's but have no place for a spare wheel in my E87

Keep an eye on gumtree - there are often space-savers for sale, even if it's just the space-saver wheel and tyre, you can get the tools and bag later on. The space-saver wheel is the costly part!

Howsit guys.. correct me if im wrong but the e90 does come with a small tyre compressor right? And how good is the tyre repair can?

Reason for asking is for my next set of tyres I'm definitely wanna go for non-runflats but dont like the idea of having a spare wheel thrown in the boot.

Not as standard - you have to buy the mobility kit, at least I don't think it comes standard, mine didn't... I would recommend investing in a good quality MotoQuip mini air compressor, they are not that expensive.

I have a tyre compressor in the tiny "spare wheel" section of my boot and its from bmw(think its a mobility kit) it was in the car when we purchased it. So im not sure if it was an optional extra coz the car had +-3000kms when we bought it.

Maybe they started including them with later models, or maybe you just scored it as part of the deal?
