Howzit guys,

I noticed with my car its very hard for it to get up to speed the past few weeks.

My initial thoughts are maybe MAF, or camshaft sensor?

At cold idle it also bounces from 500RPM to 1100RPM.

I am also considering doing the VANOS but lets first see what the problem is here.

Any advice will be much appreciated

Thanks

not sure if its your only problem but do Vanos seals you will not be sorry... ask anyone who has fitted them :)

Had that idle bounce and it turned out to be crank sensor. So check maf and all sensors. Doing vanos always a good thing.

Im sure vanos seals need replacing. Since ive had the car it hasnt been replaced. So ill be in touch moranor.

Ive had readings before from the cam sensor but the "experts" always brush it off hence why i ask

if you have no codes im pretty sure it will be vanos seals... get the codes read and see what comes up...

Most probably your VANOS buddy

As Moranor said, you will not be sorry if you do the seals

Vanos won't cause erratic idle though...but it's the usual suspect for loss of bottom-end laziness.

Vanos can cause idle problems when its very bad...

Wow...! In such cases is it just the seals or does the entire unit need to be refurbished??

normally just the seals but if there is noise then there could be bigger problems...
