Nice touch BMW

I notice that BMW have introduced mini ///M badges to their M sport models.
And that's a nice touch.

Now all they need to do is bring back the colour coded boot spoilers we all loved on the E30s

Can you remember any other bits they have economised on over the years

Sorry about the dark pic- it's 21:31 here which is pretty bright for this time of night

As long as people stop turning their 320d's into M320d's by adding the M badge to the current badge on the back of any bmw. But i agree the ones on the side just finish the whole M sport package nicely

But purists will know that it's not an M -you'll need the suspension , wheels ,mildly aggressive body styling, steering wheel ,seats....... But I doubt people will just stick an ///M badge on:nonono:

Believe me i have seen quite a few bmw's ranging from old 1 series to e46 320i etc.that the guys buy aftermarket M badges and just stick it on there like theyre fooling anybody into believing it an M car or even a car with msport package

M badges must be for M cars only. This isn't lenz (No offence guys)

Whats wrong with Lenz huh huh :roflol:

There is nothing wrong with having an //M badge on an Msport. I mean BMW put them there anyway minus the rear.
Not like a 320i Msport is fitting an //m3 badge

Is it wrong to put the ///M badge on a E90 330i Msport? The car has the sports suspension, seats, steering, and bumpers as standard. It also has the ///M panels on the door sills - also standard.

Im personally not a fan and removed them from both the F30s.

Either i was going to do it or someone was to scale it off and damage the paintwork.

Putting an ///M badge on a non M is an issue that has been debated over and over again with the same outcome.

On one side you have people who feel it's okay if you have an M-Sport, on the other side you have people who feel like it counts as a huge automotive enthusiast NONO especially since M badges on the rear should denote the fact that you have an M engine under the bonnet.

I personally cringe at the sight of an aftermarket M-Badge on a non M, but that's me, personal preferrence.

It really is up to you, if you like it then I don't see why not. It's your car.

I like the look of M-Stripes on a Non M :fencelook:

I will only ever have an M badge at the back of my car if it came that way from the factory. I don't even like the M135i, not the actual car, just the naming. M is for the top of the range best performance shit your pants going round corners insane mad scientist cars.

I saw the darndest thing the other day. Brand new 5 series... with all the numbers at the back removed, except the 5... and a great big M stuck in front of it. I don't know enough the subtle differences between the different model 5s at the moment but I am pretty sure BMW would make the M the same size as the 5... and not make it sound like a 525i.

Why would you do that?:yuck:

I personally can't stand seeing e46 m318i or m320d etc cars on the road. In a BMW purist point of view I feel it sort of dilutes the wow-factor of the actual M cars that deserve the M badge due to its mental motor, dynamics etc. I'd much rather save up and buy a real M-car someday instead of slapping a R50 aftermarket M-badge onto a "lesser" car (no offense guys, I drive a "lesser" e46 320d myself:rollsmile:). Then again, opinions differ hugely on this topic, so to each his own...at least that front and rear BMW badge puts us all on the same "higher" level, regardless if it is accompanied by an M-badge :tease:

I have an M badge in front of my 135i (e82) bought my car like that.. just been lazy to debadge the whole thing.. saying that though I am not a fan of these mini m badges on the fenders of these new models.. and m division has already been diluted anyways... turbo m cars, suv m cars, awd m cars, fwd m sport cars (active tourer)...

But.... taxis with m badges and m stripes. ... :thumbdo:

Yes I've seen them. ..... :flyfun:

I have the exact same thing...and no M on the back....what the hell?!...soon as I get my hands on one, I'm sticking it on.
I do agree that putting an M on something that has no sports pack or is not an M car is a bit of a tool move!!

Saw a guy, on a regular basis at my kids school, who had a 120d coupe and he had gone and put a 130d badge on with a double exhaust tip that was clearly a side of the road job....looked really KAK!!

And everyone just laughed at him....plonker!!
