Hi Guys,

Just joined the forum now.

I am looking at getting an E46 M3 SMG, I'm in the market for one at the moment. Have gone out seeing a few and awaiting on finance on one.

I currently drive a Focus ST and looking at trading that in.

Hi welcome.

Just a word of caution on the SMG, expensive when the box gives issues. Maybe the rest of the guys can give you more, personally, wouldn't go the SMG route.

Thank you for the response.

I have driven both but would prefer the SMG. I have googled endless amount of problems on the smg but also came across where guys have not had any issues.

hopefully some of the current owners can respond and give me an overview.

Nice buy, hope your sale goes through. You seem to have done your research, just make sure you do preventative maintenance and you shouldn't have a problem. The guys on the forum should be able to let you know what to look out for.:=):

thank you guys, has anyone on the forum had major issues with theirs?

when i do a search i can't open those threads for some reason.

my finance and everything has been approved i'm just waiting on confirmation of all the services and maintenance that was done on the car.

i don't want to take it without having all of that in place.

really can't wait to get it though,:rollsmile::rollsmile: has always been my dream car.
