Hi Guys

I've just gotten myself a 2008 R55 Mini Cooper S Clubman.

Quite excited.

My car just gave me this warning. Not too sure what it means. Could this be the breaks? My turbo didn't engage after this warning came on.

Your help is appreciated.

Not having much luck with this car hey.
Did you get your oil leak sorted?

I got that when my high pressure pump went.
It goes into limp/safe mode, so will cut your power to protect the engine.

The oil is sorted. The oil seals had to be replaced. But this emissions warning sign came up his morning.

Drove it again. The power was there. But will have it checked ASAP.

Yeah mine went on and off for a period of 3 weeks or so. Finally stayed on so I booked it in. Was not too expensive to replace if i remember correctly.

SherwinZ, after a long drive, do you keep the car on for a few minutes before you switch off? Is that necessary? And do you warm it up every morning before driving?

Hi, yes always let the car idle a bit after any drive. Its not necessary as it has an electric coolant pump for the turbo, but I still do it anyway to let the car "settle".

In the morning I don't warm up before driving, but take it easy while driving until the car is warmed up before going over 3k rpm. That gives the gearbox a chance to warm up as well.
