Hey everyone!

First-time BMW owner here, recently purchased a 2013 ActiveHybrid 3! Very happy with the car so far.

Thanks all!

welcome!

what type of consumption do you get?
If I drive relatively casually in town traffic I get around 9.3l/100 but it drops way down if I put her in Eco Pro mode. Eco Pro makes the throttle really lazy and encourages usage of the electric engine.

Welcome, nice car you have there! Must pull like crazy from standing start!! :smilebounce:
I launched it a few times on the first day I got it and had a headache afterwards :D

My average fuel consumption over 2 tanks is 10.3l/100 so far. I should probably get the lead foot uninstalled at some stage... Ironically that was the same consumption I had with my old Opel Astra 1.6 turbo, so Im quite chuffed.

Right, so some quick stats on the AH3 long-distance.

Very easy to get consumption to 8.3l/100, even doing crazy overtaking on the N2. Got it down to 7.1 for ±100km between George and Plett but can see it's capable of going at least 0.5 lower with conservative driving in Eco Pro - got to Plett in Comfort mode. The one issue with having it in Eco Pro is how lazy the accelerator pedal is - my foot/ankle started aching after a while and had to switch it to Comfort.

Daily-driving in town is significantly worse at 9.1-10l/100 but it's directly related to the landscape that I drive every day, which is up the M3 into the top of CPT CBD, so constantly climbing hills which is horrid for consumption in such a heavy & thirsty vehicle.

Anyone have comparisons with a stock 335i?

Efficiency update: The trick when cruising on the open road is actually to put her into full manual mode (gear lever to the left + up/down-shift using lever or paddle), then keeping it in 8th gear. I find the cruise control is waaaaaay too aggressive on acceleration, sometimes down-shifting from 8th to 5th to climb a hill and maintain 120 and the consumption rockets to 25-30l/100.

Wasn't able to beat 7.1l/100 on the way back due to wind and traffic.
