New to the world of cars

Hiya everyone,

New to this forum(saw it mentioned on another South African forum) and new to the car and BMW world.

I recently had the opportunity to inherit my late uncle's 2007 320d with 240 000kms . It's my first car and first project car combined. Been interested in working on cars and I'm grateful to finally have the opportunity to.

The list of problems is fairly long. Most are cosmetic luckily. Already made a start with a couple of the problems.

Hello, welcome, very nice and good luck with your project car.

Care to share said list of issues, maybe there are immediate solutions the community can offer.

Solved:
- Soft touch rubber was leaving black marks on hands( removed it with a knife and some rubbing alcohol)
- Rear aircon vent plastic airflow things had come out( disassembled and reassembled it)
- Left rear window was not staying up ( removed broken window regulator, just waiting for the part now)

To do:

- Left mirror is missing
- Headlight is intermittent and park light does not work
- Headlights also need some restoration
- Drivers seatbelt buckle plastic cover is missing
- Driver window switch needs replacing
- Rear window seal has deteriorated
- Rear quarter drip panel is unstuck
- Front ash tray is stuck open
- Scratches in various places around the car
- Dent on front right fender
- Front badge is missing
- Number plate mounts look a bit ugly/off
- Radio LCD screen not working 100%
- Boot struts are weak
- Rims need some work

Plus a good inside and outside clean

Welcome. Luckily, you can find qualiity used parts for the 2007 e90 at used parts dealers such as the boot/bonnet struts where you will spend considerable less than buying new.
