NEW to the Forum e28 + WANTED : M SYSTEM 2 THROWING STAR RIMS

Hi All! This is my first post!

I've finally acquired my first BMW! My second car a 1985 e28 528 MEX with 216 000 kms after a lot of searching. It's not 100% but it's going to be a project I'm undertaking.

I currently don't have pictures, will post as soon as I can, however this particular thread is just a probe to find out if you guys know of anyone looking to sell M SYSTEM 2 Throwing star wheels? I know they are rare, but Ive got to start somewhere.

Im also in the market for styles STYLE 15's the wheel that comes off the e38 750, in 16" Another rare rim for South Africa, but please inform me if you know of anyone.

Its good that a lot of BMW rims can be interchanged without looking FUGLY.

Sadly the Throwing Stars might take a while to find. Just try and avoid the replica wheel as they are no where near the same in quality or strength. I'd rather get a old original set than a new replica set.

What area do you stay in Cape Town?

Check Ebay UK for the rims you need. I recently bought a set of rims with tyres for my X5 on Ebay and the wheels are currently with my son in London. Am in the process of getting quotes to courier them here (to Cape Town) If you find the wheels you like (think i saw some throwing stars on Ebay last week when looking for my wheels - but they were expensive iirc) we can maybe make a plan together to get them here?

Hi Guys! I don't know how to do multiple replies yet But overwhelmed with the response! @Nic_s Ive just moved to Woodstock.

I think I will just post updates in this thread. Will have pics of the car on Friday! Progress will be slow, as Im a recent graduate holding down 2 jobs, only really have time to get parts and work on the car on Saturdays and Sundays. But bare with me.

I've had a really good morning! Ive found a set of Style 15's and going to look at a set of THROWING stars this evening :joy: havn't spoken to the owner, but his friend and he says they have covers + caps Will let you guys know!

Hey Guys!

So my Style 15's arrived from JHB today :joy:
Very happy at the condition at the price I paid!

Attached some pictures : And one of the car. (Sorry about the quality)

Will have them mounted next week, and the car cleaned and looking good, just sourcing some second hand tires for the moment, as im not sure what size I'm going to need after ive crossed the bridge of a mild lowering and a bit of spacing










Like I said, updates will be slow due to working hours, but so far so good

Next up :
+ e34 540 Brake upgrade
+ Suspension upgrades
+ Towbar Delete
+ Bodywork on rear valance , boot and front right fender[/i]
