Hi Guys,

New on the forum. Just acquired a new to me E46 320D '04 Model. So far loving the car but with some reading realized there are some issues i should sort out soon. Mileage 167k and its got full service history. Few questions:
- Read about the swirl flaps. What is advantage of getting blanks as opposed to just removing flap and putting the "flap assembly minus flap" back?
- Also best place to get decat done?

welcome.. :thumbs: ..regarding swirl flaps give this a read, www.pmwltd.co.uk/swirl_flaps.pdf ..it willshed some light on the issue..I believe they should be taken out..with my E90 I'm going to have them removed after MP, however you will need to fit blanking plates to cover the holes they leave behind..you can choose to follow the DIY way of altering the current swirl flaps to use them as blanking plates but I think the blanking plates are better as with the DIY method there can be a small chance a piece of glue or something breaks off while the blanking plates are single forged pieces, but there are people who've done the DIY without issues..you can get them off ebay or you can find someone to make them..
