New Rotors/Discs?

Hey guys,

I have to have new rotors/discs fitted soon on my E85 Z4M. Any ideas where I can get some OEM/or near as decent spares other than directly from BMW?

I have changed discs and pads before, and want to do it as a bit of a weekend job with a buddy who dabbles with cars, but need to find a decent parts supplier that won't rip me a new one.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Pete

I have POWERBRAKE discs and pads on the front and OEM discs and POWERBRAKE pads on the rear on my Z4M. Awesome

Why not contact John from Leo Haese here on the forum and ask if maybe they can help? :dunno:

Thanks guys! Appreciate the help.

Let me try John... ask for a discount... and also find out about Powerbrake options.

Thanks again! :)

Regards,

Pete

Let me know what you end up with... I may need an all round brake change soon as well for my M coupe....

Cool. Will post the outcome back on here and let you know!

dont forget the 345mm dscs go on the Z4 and CSL . 325mm discs come on the E46 M3. make sure you get the right size for your car.

I did front discs recently, worked out to R3500 each.
pads are like R1500 for textar from Moranor at Axis

And after lots of phoning, e-mailing and general googling.... with some attempts being more fruitful than others... it looks like my best bet is to get the OEM discs from BMW and then probably just install them myself as a weekend fun DIY job.

Thanks guys for the input... will let you know how it goes... :)

By the way... you can see the discs are really getting close to needing replacement in these before and after pics of the plastidip I put on the wheels... :)

Hey guys,

Just to confirm, ended up getting the OEM rotors. Got a 20% discount from BMW... which was great! ~So R6,7k for the two...

Then had them fitted whilst having some other work done... along with new Textar pads... (many thanks to the gentleman that helped me! :) )

So all in all, not too bad!

After the preventative maintenance on the engine I will be going super slow anyway's... but it feels good to not have to worry about the discs anymore!

Out of interest, how long did your disks last you?

Hey,

Well, this was to replace the original discs, and I had 149,000 km on the clock!

Not too bad I think!

Considering the condition of your bearing not bad at all.

They lasted remarkably long! But then again, I don't really drive like a maniac... :=):
