Thanks guys, to answer questions across the post.

The car was bought locally, was imported a long time ago to SA.
It might be the same as E36/E46. Give it a try, where are you in Johburg Ray?

Nice car! Congratulations
I phoned the previous owner to enquire if he would sell the wheels, but he just laughed. He also wanted serious money for it, so i hope you got it for a bargain considering the misfire 'n all...... I really hope for your sake it is only something small causing it.

Well so far, engine bay clean done. At least for the meanwhile.

New Bouigi cords ordered, see if that sorts the misfire out. If not then we will start with coils, and then if still not right onto the fuel system.

Rear Drums/discs and shoes ordered and received.. R1500 for all new, bargain.

Engine bay hoses, rubbers, airflow pies to be replaced, all OEM pricing is ok, so waiting it from UK.

Send some pics soon.

Update:

New plug wires sorted out the misfire. V12 Purring beautifully. Waiting on price and availibility of OEM plug wires as the Bougi ones dont have the cable with the cam sensor, so I have had to replace the bougi cables on no 6 and 12 with old ones for now.

Rear drums and new discs installed.

So far so good!!

So for an update.

New Rear Discs, pads and brake shoes. Last guy forgot to put the pins holding the shoes in place, no wonder there was a rattle.

New Rubber hoses for intake manifolds, covers and plastic bits and pieces arrived from Germany, nice and new shiny parts.

Had intake manifolds Guncoted and the tappet covers powder coated, were looking shocking NOW THEY LOOK HOT. Fronts pads from germany also arrived.

Boughi Cord SA making me 2 sets of plug cables ...

Found a 6 cd cassette for the shuttle R200... bargain.

New front speakers in doors and then off to Supaformance in JHB for original BMW radio and original AMP. Thanks ADI for AMP :ty:

Keep you all updated

These cars all look awesome! However, put the car on a lift and take a look around the under carriage. I ended up replacing the ENTIRE under carriage of my 840ci and it's a 1995 model and only had 90,000 miles on the clock. The salt they put on the UK roads in winter totally wrecks a car!

Thanks Bazza,

This car was in SA for many years, I had a quick look under and it seems in pretty good nick. However still a detailed clean of the under-carriage and oil changes to motor, gearbox and diff coming. Most of the suspension was replaced by previous owner with OEM parts. Have not found much rust around or in the car as yet.

Yes, I had to get all my parts from the UK through Auto Atlantic as I want to keep the car OEM original and hardly anything is available in SA.

Just for fun... turn your windows down, take her on the highway and get her up to 160km/h and see what happens. Pretty cool little trick.

Many happy miles! The car's a proper machine Luis!
