diy New Oil Leak

Morning all,

I found oil leaking from the sump gasket. Engine has been rebuilt with a new sump gasket and bolts set to the correct torque.

Sump didn't leak during running in using a heavier mineral oil. After running in I put in 5W30 and now I have a leak.

Can I just put more torque on the bolts or is there something else I should do?

Sump bolts of 6mm shank diameter are torqued to 10Nm
8mm shank diameter are at 22Nm
Tightening bolts on steel gaskets beyond advised setting will get leaks going.

Steel only gaskets require a special sealant and is listed in RealOEM

Thank you Peter,

It is an Elring metal style gasket that had its own rubber sealant as part of the gasket. I didn't over crank the torque this time.

If it starts leaking again I'll go the other route suggested.
