Good day guys,

I have just recently joined this wonderful group. However, I bought my car 320d Lux Line in April 2021. My car gave me some problems in September with drivetrain issue. I struggle to upload pictures of my car.

It went to the workshop and the diagnosis said the mechatronics is faulty. The issue was addressed with a reconditioned mechatronics, however within a week it had a drivetrain error again. The diagnosis indicated that the solenoid is faulty, which was replaced in December 2021. I have drove it for over the festive season for about 4000 kms now and it looks like it's been fixed permanently. I asked around and I was told that its rare case for diesel BMW, I do not know what happened to my car.

I am enjoying this ride everyday.

Sorry to hear about the issue with your 320d, indeed very rare for a diesel BMW as they are normally super reliable and just require maintenance items to be done.

AT BMW Montana the quotation was R80k which included a new mechatronics priced at R58k. I took my car to Marios Workshop Solutions who charged the same as BMW for a new mechatronics. I opted for a R15k reconditioned mechatronics part and the whole job was R38k.

Sorry to hear about the issue with your 320d, indeed very rare for a diesel BMW as they are normally super reliable and just require maintenance items to be done.

I was also told that 320d is very reliable, so I was very disappointed and frustrated with my car. I service it accordingly and at BMW dealership

would struggle to go into reverse when cold...now it drives in neutral...they say it needs Valvelody replacement..BMW says new gearbox of course.

Damn. I was at BMW during the week and I asked how much is a new gearbox. It is about 87k +-

Damn. I was at BMW during the week and I asked how much is a new gearbox. It is about 87k +-

hers is a 2 series and quote was R200k

Yes I got it at Marios Workshop Solutions. Marios went all out to get me a reconditioned part from other places he knows. Marios have some guy working for ZF who do the programming etc for them.
