New member here based in Botswana and looking to get my hands on an E46 330. I have always loved the E46 and having previously owned a 323 I want to make the step to a more powerful engine.

Welcome. I suggest you check for the LCI version. Its the 6 speed version and makes 150kw instead of 135kw. The E46 330d sounds really nice compared to the E90.

Hoping I will find a mint one with relatively low numbers on the clock. Mostly petrol ones where I’m located and not well looked after either, so my best bet is across the border. I have been going through tons of threads on here on things to look out for and places to avoid, quite insightful I must say.

Being from Botswana are you going to get the Japanese imports? I have had buddies with a few I must say those Japs are not bad at all. Mileage is usually low and all round condition of these cars is not bad.

Thanks gents. DirtyD, that’s an option I’m also exploring alongside others. I have contacted a dealership dealing in Jap motors here and they will share a few options.
Some of the ones I have seen around have the squarish shaped plate holder which I’m note that keen on. Not sure If it’s something that can be sorted out but If it is then I haven’t come across a solution yet around here.

Being from Botswana are you going to get the Japanese imports? I have had buddies with a few I must say those Japs are not bad at all. Mileage is usually low and all round condition of these cars is not bad.

The Japanese ones are hard to find as well. I have been in contact with a number of dealers and individual importers but nothing is coming up. BeForward.jp does not have any as well.

The ever elusive 330!
