Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum. I used to own a 1989 E30 which I had quite a bit of fun with.

After that I drove a polo gti and a merc C180k.

The reason I found this forum was because I was researching some common problems on a 2009 320d manual exclusive. I drove one today and I loved it. I am considering buying it and wanted some advice on any common problems.

It has 82000km.

I have heard of timing chain issues and steering lock issues. Is this common and costly?

Any advice would be appreciated.

The N47 is a pretty solid engine, if you search the forum for the common things to look out for I am sure you will find some good info. I myself (and other members should confirm) have never heard of a SA model having the timing chain issue..
