I was asked to introduce myself...
Here is a quick history update of my thrills and spills.
In 1992 my Dad and I started building a Cobra Kit car from scratch. In 1994 we were finished and took it to the drag strip were we did a 13.6ET:nonono:
We set ourselves the goal of modding the car to be the fastest Cobra in SA.
After many blown engines, blood sweat and tears we imported a Bow Tie Block. 350cu was used, Brodix Track1 Heads (ported and flowed by Gawin Wilkens, Crower Roller Cam, Steel crank, Manley Rods, TRW Forged Pistons,etc etc and finally a 2stage NOS system. In OCT 2002 I won the overall Fastest Steet Car in SA challenge with the Purple Cobra. At this stage the car was doing low 10`s Et and 16.7sec 255km/h over the 800m, with our purpose build 4 link suspension
The next year we did a complete rebuild and this is were the tears started to roll. The car was written of in spectacular fashion at a Gymkhana event held at Tarlton. I had some Angels looking after me hence I am here to tell the story. We then moved on to Vic`s Cobra. We build a new engine, changed the four link suspension, modded the gearbox extensively. And the the favorite part was installing the 8 FOGGER NOS kit and a Base plate Kit for those prepared track days.
I drove the car to a NEW SA ET record of 9.72 and Speed SA record of 229.5km/h for Street 8 cyl Class:rollsmile:
After playing with the 8 cyl I gave a 120d a go. It was an Auto. All the Hardware were left stock and yet again I only did SW on the car. I played with it at BMW club days and achieved numerous class wins with that car.
I also started Building a 325is Turbo. Eventually it was fitted with a Turbonetics T61 Ballbearing Turbo, Arias Pistons, Eagle Rods, Block Girdle, Severely Modded Alpina Head, M5 Coil per Cylinder setup, EMS Management system that was Fully Sequential.That car did a 11 sec ET and 280km/h over 1.2km @ 1.5bar Boost. Thanks to Sybie for tuning the car.
Now I have acquired a N54 135 auto. Lets see where the road takes us:idea:
