Hi Everyone,

I am new to the forum and a new 2011 Cooper S owner:thumbs:, i just have some questions if you guys dont mind answering for me as i have searched but nothing really comes up.

Performance, do i go JCW upgrade route or do i use aftermarket parts, if aftermarket what do you suggest?

The reason i am asking is the JCW Kit prices are quite steep and i really want more kick out of my mini.

The accessories also are very expensive, does anyone know where i can get mini accessories other than BMW?

I saw a lot of stuff i want but their prices are madness, R3500 for rubber mats? :thumbdo:

:ty:

Howzit and welcome!

I think you must first get used to the Mini's stock power output before modding. Too much power is going to make those front wheels spin all the time.

As for accessories from places other than BMW, your best bet is probably going to order online.

I find http://www.outmotoring.com the best in terms of range.

I also looked for mats, but eventually bought a R100 set from Makro and stuck velcro underneath them so they don't slip. It might not have any Mini logos but it does the job just as well.

Also join www.mini2.com and you will find tons of information you need.

Morning All,

Pics as promised, thats the reason i was asking about the JCW kit and aftermarket. Apparently there is software remaps that can be done that would not be picked up by BMW, also does a dumpvale void warranty?

I really want that:inlove:

Bluebeastie, have you purchased anything from this site?
Is it safe and are they actually delivered to you?

I've read up on dumpvalves for MCS and the guys generally don't go for them. Apparantly it hinders performance on the car and the OEM bypass adapter works fine. They will most likely void your warranty too unless you remove everytime you take the car in.

I haven't personally purchased from Outmotoring, but I've heard nothing but good reviews about them. The one thing I really want to get from them is the DDM Works Race intake system, but at $448, its pretty pricey.

Here are some other sites to check too.

Alternatively there is always E-bay.

Either way I think you are going to fork out alot of dosh for stuff. One of the reasons why I haven't done anything to my car.

First off, congrats on the car.

Then, best is talk to the guys at BMW and find out what aftermarket stuff can be done without affecting the maintenance plan. I am sure there are bmw approved stuff. But get this in writing and even so, make sure that if something breaks, it can not be traced back to the part in question.

Then modifying bmw are never cheap. Modifying cheaply will very seldom give any gains.

hey! im also a new member of this forum, however im selling my jcw.

I got a lot of goodies from:
www.minigenuineparts.co.uk

excellent prices, but i sent all my stuff to Portugal, as I go there a lot and always bring them with me..

You question regarding performance..

there is now in SA a guy that representes Evolve Automotive UK (www.evolveautomotive.com) these for me are the best remapes for the minis, and boy oh boy what a difference! you can find the representative for SA in the website, his name is Richard, he is from boksburg and I cant recall the name of the place..

There are a lot of ways to increase the cooper s performance, but I kept mine simple... evolve remap and a ITG air filter..

Just depends how much bling and madness you have ! =)

Hi Hi

Not sure how I missed this thread but for mapping that can be hidden from motorplan you can give me a shout as we do custom tuning for MINI.

Lovely colour, my favourite in fact with my favourite Mayfair Mag Wheels!

With regards to the mats they are rather pricey, why not rather drop me an email and we can do some custom floor mats for you at half the price?

I hope you are coming to the get together and hope you will keep us updated on your ride.

Have a MINIriffic day! :joy:
