new member is looking for advise

Hi there,

I am new here and busy experiencing an never ending nightmare with my E39 540i.

To make a long story short. Last year somebody who was supposed to overhaul my engine disappeared with the engine and some money from me.

Now I am looking around for an replacement engine for my lovely E39 540i. Bought already one M62 engine just to find out that it is slightly different to my original one.

My car is built 09/97 where there made sone changes to the engine. Should be an single vanos engine.

Does somebody has any advise where to find another M62 engine (broken or in good condition - does not matter)?

That's a truly horrid situation to find yourself in man! My word. Talk about morals and ethics or the lack thereof.
