Hi guys,

As of two weeks ago I am the proud owner of my first BMW, a 2005 E90 330i Manual with just over 46000 km on the clock and otherwise in immaculate condition! :)

Prior to that for well over 10 years I had been unhappily commuting with various Toyota Corollas etc. I have always had a major crush on the 3 Series, in particular the E46. The E36 was also "in my good books". Interestingly when the E90's came out I didn't like them at all! But over the years one does get use to the new styling designs. To be honest, the main reason why I went for the E90 was that finding a good E46 330i Manual with reasonably low-ish mileage was proving to be very hard. Then three weeks ago it was a Thursday afternoon and while paging through a second hand car book that I had just got saw the advert - at first paid little attention and continued paging through looking for that hard to find E46. I then found myself paging back to re-read the advert thinking, "that's low mileage" for the age and price. So the next day we went through to take a "look" at the car and well, I bought it...

Really is a pleasure to drive and has lots of great creature comforts that I am not really accustomed to, but liking! Doesn't have Xenons which is a bit disappointing, but the standard Halogens are capable enough. Not the fastest car out there but I reckon most likely the fastest in my area/street. Will update the pics at some point - the ones above were literally after I gave the car it's first wash since being home. I have been cleaning up a few slightly neglected areas that the previous owner didn't pay attention to.

Edit: Originally posted this in the new members area but thought I'd post here too...

Thanks "naushad", Jiren and "freerider",

@ "freerider": When and where did you see this car? May even have been the same day. Grey interior is okay and at least it has the wooden trim and not the more common brushed chrome - in the end it is spotless inside just as it is outside.

I have to have the tyres looked at though, the front set seem to be the original set that the car came with as per the date stamp on their side walls - the rears must have been fitted recently since they were made towards the end of 2009. The front set still have plenty meat on them but they seem to be noisy and already 5 plus years old. I also gather that the Conti's aren't the preferred rubber, not to mention run flats. Been reading a few threads here regarding ditching the run flats and the things to consider if going that route. In any event, I reckon I will have to get a space saver kit for those long trips.

Thanks guys! I am thoroughly chuffed with her and expect to enjoy her for years to come! :)

@ "FMG": LOL - Well, my Father in Law bought an E46 328i (A) about 5 years ago which of course added to my lust for BMWs! He then also bought a second hand Corsa bakkie for his commute to work and general workhorse duties while their house was being built. This bakkie has been so unreliable though and with the endless problems he saw an advert for something that got his attention and went to take a look at it - on the way back my Mother in Law calls us to tell us that they're coming to visit us but that it might take a bit longer than usual to get to us. The Corsa's engine kept dying on them and what would normally take 20 min took 45 min! Anyway, he collected his new car a few days later, a black 2003 BMW Z4 3.0 with the SMG gearbox, also low-ish mileage. And this was the day before I saw the advert for my car! So two new BMWs in our family within a week! Can't go wrong with that hey? :)
