How come 90 percent of v8 m3 owners want superchargers for their m3's. As soon as we see a build like that everyone says WOW, not a single ' you spoiled a great NA' car.
Seems a bit hypocritical.

It'll still sound the same, still have a responsive engine, still rev to 8600, basically all the characteristics of a NA engine but with added power. Makes total sense if you want more power but keep the vehicle closest to oem drive-ability.

No it won't sound the same, it won't drive the same at all and will have the characteristics of a forced induction motor which it will be.
Like I said m owners always go on about the na motor but you just admitted it would be better with boost, end of story

Guys... The main reason for the turbo was to give it better fuel consumption whilst maintaining the M heritage. In the EU, poor consumption = poor sales.BMW have been focused on twin power turbos ( twin turbo in M3) from the 1 series upwards for their efficient dynamic ( fuel saving) programme - Valvetronics and direct injections about fuel saving with compromising on power

Turbo-charging is very different to supercharging. Have you driven a e9x M3 with a supercharger? If done correctly, its just a M3 with way more power. The sound is the same, very slight supercharger wine.

Yes I have and the car is very much different, the thing you like about it is the torque, the 1m is the best drivers m car at present and the motor is an n54

You miss the point, the m fans keep harping on about normally aspirated, guess that is long gone

Yes and to those fans, it's very sad.

This only makes the V8 ///M even more of a legend.Remember my previous comment on another thread...the ///M fleet is legendary. Whether its faster or slower than a car not developed by M division it's an ///M and everything about it irrespective of series means that it looks like its going a 100 mph even when parked off.

Disclaimer : Not a dig at the 335i/ diesel owners- the conments above is about an ///M cars heritage
