New M3 Owner

So here is me sharing my childhood dream come true. I have now owned 4 BMW's over the past 8 years and this time The fourth is a true M!

After having a 135 Coupe, I moved onto the M135 and loved the experience of both cars. Finally I could not resist the urge and traded the M135 for an M3!

I have only been driving the car now for a week and love the experience and feel of the M3! What a beast!! It is a total different animal to the previous two!

Congrats bro
U gonna have a blast
M3 is a a car that is developed totally different from the normal series. That's why u pay so much more for it vs the 340 for example. Enjoy - just remember to warm her internals before giving her the stick

Thanks! Jip it does get time to heat up properly thanks to all the bloody speed humps in our estate! But you can feel when it is not properly warm up! It feels jerky and angry but boy when the juices are warm it come to its own!

Enjoy!

Here's a way to start it up so it sounds a bit better:
Switch on the ignition (don't start the car), set the engine setting to Sport+ and then press the accelerator pedal down. You may hear the exhaust valves opening if you are in a quiet environment.
Now start the car.

Take it easy until the 2000km run-in service.

Better still just remove fuses 146 and 147 while the flaps are open.
Then you have that sport sound all the time.

Good tip, but I prefer to have the option of a "civilized" start when the situation dictates.
You can also remove the plugs from the valves (again when the flaps are open).
I always drive with everything in Sport+ mode (set up on M2 button) - not much sense in driving the car in any other way, IMHO. :tiptoe:
Who would drive them in "efficient" engine mode :screwy::nono::dunno:

Hi and welcome.

Congrates on the new ride.

I see you had a Sedona Red 135i YBZ***GP. It has a outstanding campaign for a cable. If you know who now owns it please ask them to pop in to their local BMW dealer please.

Not sure who owns it now. Was sold to Auto Alpina in Boksburg.

Tried it and it sounds great. Also heard an new M3 at the dealership today with downpipes and M performance exhaust! Bloody hell that sounds fine but will definitely irritate the neighbors!!
