saw something about the M5 engine sound over speakers on top gear s18 e7, i think so anyway. cant remember the details though...

Just encouraging critical thinking. The M3 is the purists sports car! An acquintance of mine bought a 911 and when I asked him whtlat the engine displacement is he did not know. Buying a car for the sake of having one?

The answer is simple, why would BMW want to reinvent the wheel, they've got a great base to work from on the N55/54 engines already :praise:

No, no its not unfortunately. The F10 M5 does "pipe" engine sounds in over the speakers.

I have driven a few and it is a very well documented "feature"
