I am little confused and irritated.
I have been using my 530d, 2001, as daily drive and enjoy the torque and fuel efficiency. I maintain the car and keep it to factory specification.
The key became an issue and after trying new batteries I have now decided to buy a new key.
The Agent insists that the car must come to the workshop to have the key cancelled on the on board computer before they can order a new key from BMW.
As far as my research goes the programming of a new key is a fairly straight forward exercise.
All I am asking from BMW is to sell and provide me with the key, which I have already paid. I have given the agent a copy of my ID and a copy of the registration papers.
The problem is they have my money, proof of ownership and identification. All I want is a new key!!
Any similar experiences.
