If you don't mind, please post all of the costs as well, including postage and duties. I would appreciate it if you can list items separately.

I have a feeling I will need to do the rear control arms and engine mounts soon as well.

PARTS FROM: RMEUROPEAN( dont ship international)
SHIPPING: SHIPITO

I experience was not flawless. After i have order and paid the informed me that the gearbox mount i want is out of stock. They gladly refund me for the gearbox mounts and sent the rest of the the shipping forwarding company.

SHIPITO had fraud problems in the past so now they have spending limits for new customers. I did not notice that so when my package arrived at them I went through the steps and paid with paypal. Last step sorry you have reach your limit. THe only way around it a wire transfer or some documents that has to be posted to them. I so i did a wire transfer at the bank. From that hastle apart great service. Shipping cost is very good( fedex normally for my parcell would have been $660 they charged $231)

Ok so cost

Parts cost: R7059
Shipping R2052 ( shipping and shipito's fee)
Customs R1259(tax clearance etc but for some reason no duty)
Total R10370

work back from $ price and %

4x subframe mount R749.30 each (R1239.68 at BMW)
2x rear guide links R1698.43 each (R3639.89 at BMW)

1x left rear control arm R1156.96 each (R2618.79 at BMW)

have you ever called ZF lemforder? They are usually quite flabbergasted at you, since the ONLY supply parts to BMW directly...

Like P1000 say.

I went to the cape branch and they looked funny at me when i ask for Lemforder parts.

I have email the head office and never got any response.

So I got fed-up with struggle for service and just imported it.

I update my post with the price to include the quoted price from BMW

Buying online is the way forward to get decent deals.

I bought a steering rack directly from ZF, and it was cheap.

Did you try pelican parts? AFAIK, they do ship to SA...

But thanks for the info. I will have to wait until I have enough parts I need to import.

Funny thing - I was looking at importing transmission parts, then I got a quote from a local supplier, and the prices were pretty much the same as what I would have paid to import myself (incl shipping), so in that case I would support the local guys without a doubt. (not to mention that they supplied better quality parts, including some OEM - and most of the rest by companies that make the OEM parts, just under the original brand)

I did look at pelican parts but they did not have everything I wanted in oem or out of stock. Some of the their items was was 1 or 2 dollar cheaper some not and in the end RMeuropean was cheaper on the total.

I always try and source want I want locally as dont like sending money out of SA too much and HATE paying duties. But lately I find myself importing more and more as locally is not available of hell expensive.

then I got a quote from a local supplier, and the prices were pretty much t

Please share the name of supplier.

nope i havent dealt with them before. just thought it might be better to try directly. service sucks, now they lose sales because you can get the same product elsewhere
