Hi everyone

My name is Floyd. I'm not new to the forum, just not that active.
I recently purchased a manual 05 e46 m3 with 132 000 k's on the clock. It's not my first M car but definitely the best sounding. I just love listening to those pipes. Would have loved to get 1 with the extras like sat nav and pdc but oh well.

Immediate things to do

-check vanos ( can someone point me in the right direction)
-oil service
-check all bushes
-sunroof, it opens and jams half way

If you keen on taking it to someone, i would recommend Ross Duncan in midrand. He is specialist in BMW.

Nice rides. M3's looks in great condition, good mileage and a good year model.
I would do the bearings before anything else, unless recently done.
There are many threads regarding M3's running bearings. Might never happen, or might just go pop one day and your S54 is done.

very Beautiful M!

some advice , at that mileage, Get your Rod bearings checked/replaced before it runs a bearing and damages your crank. at 100K these bearings tend to wear down and can spin and damage the crank shaft journals leading to an expensive engine build..

Google S54 bearing issue.. for more info.

Check with Peter@AEW , He can assist/advise.

Congratulations! The 2 M's look great together. I can help with the last 3 items on your list, the vanos should be done by Peter.

I second this. Speak to Peter about doing:

-Connecting Rod Bearings (save yourself a full engine rebuild in the case of a spun bearing)
-VANOS overhaul / de-risk
-Valve Clearance Adjustment

You can even just speak to him for advice.

Best is to chat to Peter about pricing. But in general, it pays to do the jobs now and prevent the risk of tanking an engine. Plus, piece of mind is also very valuable.
