For interest sake, which engine does your X3 have and what sort of fuel consumption are you getting on the Swift?
My Picanto use to get 6.5 to 7.2L/100KM with nice driving - also a 1.2L engine. Wondering how the Swift with a newer engine does.

Due to the soaring fuel prices, I decided to get a daily instead of using the X3. It's far from economical on school runs etc...

I looked at various options around a R200k budget, my intention was to get a brand new car so I could get exactly what I wanted and benefit from the full warranty. What I ended up with is over budget but I am happy with the decision.

I finally settled on a brand new 1.2 Suzuki Swift GLX in Midnight Blue pearl with a Gloss White Roof. I decided to go with a manual transmission as I don't enjoy the auto when it comes to these smaller engine cars. They always seem to be changing gears in constant search of the right one, which never happens unless you on an open road.

Android Auoto and Apple car play with a 7 inch Touch Screen
Bluetooth Phone connectivity
Rear view camera + PDC
Keyless entry
Keyless start
Folding mirrors

5 year AA Roadside assistance
The Suzuki Swift comes standard with a 2 year / 30 000 km Service Plan and a 5 year / 200 000 km Promotional Warranty.
Claimed fuel economy is 4.9L/100km
I didnt like the stock 15" wheels so I managed to source a set of 15's from Mintys Sandton, my go to place, Joey and Peter provide exceptional pricing and service. Suzuki offset the price of the wheels so it worked out.

So far, the car has 50km on it, so review to follow but im thoroughly enjoying it so far. The drive is superb, its very generous with space considering the size.

I had to wait over a month for this spec, was worth the wait imo.

Thanks bro. My X3 is 2.0D. Its almost always at 9.9L/100kms. I hardly ever get onto a highway.

The swift is about 6.5 as well with about 700kms being done. Got it brand new, apparently should see better figures as it gets more kms.

Great purchase. I've always liked the Swift. From what I've heard, they're very fuel efficient, reliable and also low risk. I love this design as well. Honestly, you don't need to explain the "math" behind your purchase to anyone. If you can afford it, and it makes sense to you, and makes you happy, do it. Enjoy dude

@MR_Y Apologies, I missed your post. The car was excellent while I owned it for about 10 months. Enjoyed driving it around, fuel economy was round 15,2km/L. That was majority urban driving with very little highway driving. I’ve had to replace it due to circumstances.

Oddly enough I got a fantastic deal from Toyota.This is the XR which is the high spec. I must say I’m quite impressed with the way it drives and it’s got decent extras. I got the seats done at Handel street as these don’t come with leather as an option. Fuel consumption is sitting at 12.1km/L after about 500kms done with it. I’ve also taken the 8 year unlimited mileage warranty. Had it ceramic coated by Sauber Technik great results and service.

Bro - the Polo...be careful before putting leather in that car. It retains heat and boils...no offence to Vicks contact but the Polo with lather is a boiler for a daily.

Experienced this with a Polo GTi joh...the M135i still is fine but the Polo somehow hol,ds the heat much more...however with cloth it releases the heat much quicker.
Maybe scotchguard if you worried about staining etc.
