Ok so we recently traded our pre lci E70 XDrive35d in for an Lci E70 X5 XDrive40d.
Expectations were truly blown out he window by this car. The previous owner had done a few cosmetic changes which are 35% tint all round with privacy tint on the back windows, painted the inside of the wheels black, grills done in black and the bold plates(I'm taking them off as i like the standard looking plates better).
With just 15kw and 40nm more than the 35d this hunk of metal really gets up and goes like stink! Short acceleration test proved I hit 160kph on the 400m without brake boosting, simply foot down and hold on.
The feel of the MSport suspension on this car makes me feel like I was driving a boat all this while, active dampening is a big thumbs up on my side, you can feel it working when taking a bend or just cruising along the roads at low/high speed.
Before driving one I expected the 20 inch wheels to give the car a very hard ride especially because it had rubber band tyres on it but clearly I was wrong. It's much smoother than our previous car, handles better and the torque! Oh man the glorious torque!!! Coupled with that amazing 8 speed ZF transmission this is honestly my SUV choice for something in between a daily and a weekend toy.
The fuel consumption is really good for a car this size aswell, at 140kph I'm sitting at around 5/100km. So far range for half tank sits at just over 450km but that will go up a lot once it starts seeing more open road.
All together this car is heaps and bounds of fun for those bread and milk drives or those roadtrips with the friends/family. Heres some pics that i got of the car so far, will post proper pics once the weather gets better...
