Did your mechanic recommend 10w60? I'll comment on the rest of this list tomorrow when I'm in front of a PC.

Not the mechanic but another acquaintance who was selling his very worked E36 race car and has been working on these cars for many many years. He says issue is due to the lifter trays wearing out (he showed me the issue in person) and his fix is a much heavy fully synthetic oil since the M52s run very hot and breakdown the oils very quickly. Says it’s not worth replacing the lifters right now. So once oil replaced, doing the bleeding of the lifters and should sort it out.

Thanks in advance for the advice. My technical knowledge is near zero. But trying to research and chat to people in the know as much as possible.

Just another question on the MB50B25 intake manifold; Which year model cars did they come out on? I am checking the scrap yards/cars being stripped.
