Or get an E46 320i,which are probably a bit more common. My understanding is the 318i was quite under powered, and the 320i would be the next one up. Otherwise the 325i had a fantastic straight 6 under the bonnet that sounds wonderful, even at low revs. And that engine is pretty bullet proof as well.
Faults wise, you won't find too much wrong with them, the leather on the driver's seat may fade a bit,and the laminate that gets put over the interior linings on the dash and around the gear shift may crack, but that is exception rather than the norm. Mileage, as long as it's been well looked after and has full service history, shouldn't really matter. Also check with BMW (if it's got FSH from them) if there are any comments on the car.

Once he goes BMW he will NEVER look back...they become addictive...especially the sound of a throaty straight 6.... oh yeah!

What about an E46 328i? A good one will probably be hard to find though - just throwing it in there.

Like hen's teeth those. I had one of them and it was a fantastic car. But completely agree, a good one (if any) will be hard to find.

lol, Sup Nic.. i was gana ask about the 320i aswel lol.. ok cool..

98' civic. No modifications, service done regularly, no after market parts. bought straight from dealer. orignal tool kit, spare wheel, tow bar, service book,. Interior is the same. nothing changed. Orginal gear lock, immobiliser.

No cracks or fading on the dash or steering wheel. beading on outside is lil bit faded but i try to restore as much as i can.. 180 000 km on the clock

i am looking but i cant seem too a 320i
