These cars are no longer designed for the driver, but for the passenger.

Only good for CEO's and other rich people who don't even drive their own cars.

Price wise in the states anyway the price is only $3300 more than the outgoing model, and they only get the LWB models.

In the UK the new 740i costs around 10k (pounds) more than the outgoing model in standard trim.

We don't get that many options wrt. trims on our local 7-ers so my bet is that the 740i will start at around R1.37-bar locally. :)

Hope the star roof eventually comes to the 3 an 5 ! I had a ride in a Maybach once from the airport to hotel in Dubai and I loved that roof ! that's all I can remember about that car, that awesome twinkling roof.

The South African model range will consist of the 730d sDrive, 740i sDrive, 750i sDrive, and 750Li sDrive at the local launch in January 2016. BMW SA says that in September 2016, the 740e sDrive and 760Li xDrive will join the line-up.

There will be plenty of expensive options, but a generous amount of tech is actually included as standard (such as full LED headlights).
