I much prefer the coupe, the GC has lost that svelte look.. The first shot reminds me of a Panamera for some reason.

Yeah its pretty, but for me personally I think the entire essence of the 8 series has now been destroyed.
it suppose to have been up there with Supercars like the Audi R8 and merc AMG GT, but its way too fat , the cabriolet tent roof just looks wrong and now we have a 4 door version. oh yes and then we have the 6 series that does the exact same with similar proprtions:dunnoanymore::dunnoanymore:

They killed off the 6, 8 series is the replacement.

My thoughts exactly.

I happened to see a burgundy/maroon 850i yesterday... and even by today's standards it's still a thing of beauty. But it stood out from the rest of the Bavarian stable... you knew it wasn't a 6 series.

No doubt, this 8er looks great... but it blends in a bit too much, making it seem like a 6er... and with the extra doors, I feel it wont match the status of the legendary E31

Don't much like the coupe, this grand coupe is a better looker to me, but if you're old enough to remember the effect the e31 had on you when it came out compared to what BMW was offering at the time then this is a disappointment style-wise, just a nice 6er. But I'm sure to BMW's newer, younger, non-enthusiast clientele this is smashing

I've always been more of sedan lover myself. I'd happily have this over the coupe. And then again there's the M5 for similar money! M5 it is!
