New 6 Series Spotted in Cape Town. F12/ F13?

Tend to agree with Seether on the pricing. Back in the past the 6 Series was mostly compared to the Merc SL. Look at prices today of a new SL, and the 6 is a bit of a bargain.

True... But BMW will never have cars to compete with Mercedes Benz, in the top model portfolio.

Pricing wise, I also think it's a bit pricey. For R1.2million you can even pick up a Bentley Continental GT with like 25k - 35k on the clock, or a Merc CL63 or CL65. Each to their own though.

It's a beast of a car though. Auto Alpina Boksburg had a burgundy one with those light grey/white seats (why anyone would want those, I dont know), with the Bang & Olufsen sound system... I started the car in the dealership, and all the people there turned around when that beast came to life. Too too awesome.

Seems to be the case these days. In the past their respective ranges went head to head, now it appears Mercedes have gone up a few notches, and BMW has gone down a few. While they both concentrate on efficient green cars, at least Mercedes still builds something like the SLS, and Audi the R8, while BMW has no competitor to these. BMW brags about being the world's top premium brand in terms of volume shifted, but they are becoming less premium than both Mercedes and Audi. A bit sad for us BMW fans I think.

It really is a gorgeous car....last week a mate of mine took me for a spin in his new C63 AMG and we saw this beauty in the parking lot at the V & A...we both thought it was the new M6....but it was just the 640

There's a white M-Sport 6er that drives past me sometimes, I turn around to look EVERY time, really the most beautiful BMW in the lineup at the moment, along with the Z4.

The new 5 is also right up there. Can't wait to the the 7 series facelift and the new mid size Coupe
