need urgent advise from fanatics or tuners

hi guys.

well to cut the story short. late last year i blew the turbo in my audi S3 and decided to go balls to the wall with a big turbo upgrade and make the audi my weekend toy. after spending about 30k on the car with a tuner and after a lot of fighting and waiting i finally got my audi back last night. 7 months later.

so the car now is now running in Like 0.2 bar boost and has no power.

now we had to replace bearings so i decided to drive the car in for a bit before we turn up the boost but also checked the car and certain things that were promised where not done and i questioned the guy and he said he will have it sorted once i have driven 1000km with the car.

to be totally honest i don't trust the guy and because he does not own a shop I'm sorta stuck now.

i need help from anyone willing to give preferably a tuner.

do i drive 1000km then take the car back to him. he says it should take about a week to sort out or do i take it to a better known turner that actually owns a shop and let them finish the tunning part.

I've spent a lot of money on this car so I'm pretty flat. but if i do take it to a tuner how much would they charge to help me out here as I'm stuck in a situation.

thanks guys

contact one of the Jhb advertisers on the forum. i never hear complaints about our advertisers. they all seem to go the extra mile. even if you just take it to them and have them assess it. difficult for them to assess on a forum.

Hi St Lunatic,

Speak to Alistair at X-Flow/Xcede. They are building there Scirocco BT currently, last weekend, it made 508hp at KAR and they not completed with the car as yet.

I am certain they can advise and assist.

Alistair - 082 417 4480. Tell him you got the number from Arbee and you are a BMW Fanatic.

Thanks
Arbee

im not sure 'owning a shop' is the issue here have seen very similar from from other 'tuners' that have large shops... build seems to have stalled and that is the real problem... I would be inclined to ask for a refund on the work not completed and go some place else...

what work still needs to be done?

On the VAG side, I can recommend Lee and Yosh from Unitronic/Dark Artz.

Lee has done oodles upon oodles of these, and is really good.

And the cool thing is, if you come visit Lee, you pop over next door and have coffee with me :)

Well, I go and have an evening cigarette there most nights just before six, and usually end up staring at their creations.

I tell you some guys do stuff to VW Polo's that god never intended VW polo's to do.

Sorry bud, my understanding is u have paid him to do everything on your car. By u taking it to another tuner, you'll have to pay him also and your guy gets off scot free.
The only time I will recommend taking it to another tuner is if this guy gives u abit of a refund (Highly unlikely I know)

That is a sh1tty situation.

I think the 1st thing you should do, is jot down what you actually wanted, what you paid for, and what was done to the car. If you paid R30k, and they installed new management, rebuilt the motor, fitted a new turbo etc, that will quickly deplete those funds.

It's a catch-22 situation, either take it back to him and he must honour his side of the agreement (which could mean you're without a car for weeks on end again, and even more frustrations), or take it elsewhere.

Just bear in mind that if you take it elsewhere, you can pretty much bank on spending another wad of cash for them to fix all the previous tuners bugger-ups, and then get it to what you initially wanted.
