Well jumped the gun and did the deal... they are sending it for roadworthy on monday:excited::clap:

Sith I hear you. The bodywork: I did a very thorough examination and there seems to be no evidence of rust besides some surface rust around the sunroof drainpipe. The current owner is a panel beater and owns Rustguard:pimp: It was his personal car and he put the pearlesent paint over the existing paint. They seem like very reputable people, him and his dad. I doubt they would paint over rust, especially a special paintjob like that.

The main thing is that all the trim is in place all the seals are in good condition. The bumpers will have to be rechromed at some point.

Seeing as I started off looking at complete fixer upper this will be a nice project and I am not adverse to spending money and I can do most jobs myself so its just part availability. Something I will be looking for is the rear spoiler. And someone that can do the side stripes.

Congratulations, Mazeltov, Wunderbar:clap: Must admit, sounds like a good buy after what you mentioned. Both the spoiler and the side stripes are available from BMW...at a price. Good luck with the resto:thumbsup:

If money were no oject & I could choose just one BMW I would have E24 M6, perhaps a nice project to make a replica & then sell to me.:thinker:

If anything I would go Alpina, a guy in Oz replicated one using the M30 engine IIRC
